Well,
in my last entry I spoke about a choice of cameras I was looking at. The GRD2, The GX200 and the LX2. All nice, all shiny, all lovely. I did not however in the end pick one of these three. I in fact went for a newly released camera option which means I am taking a small gamble. The camera in question is the Lumix LX3. Its the follow on from the LX2, which in fairness I did like. I did look at user reviews rather than magazine reviews (non existent at the time due to newness of the camera) and they agreed it was a nice camera. So I sold some kit, put some money by for the kids Christmas presents and then spent hours scouring the web for the best deal. In the end I managed to get a really good deal…….really good…. 🙂
Anyway, as luck would have it, I have been in possesson of the camera for 2 weeks but due to one thing or another I havent yet been out with it for any great length of time. I did manage to do a little bit of snapping today.
So far, I have been impressed with the versatility and ease of use of the camera. The images are sharp, the controls intuitive and its nice and compact for taking out and about with you. I will of course have to test the camera in much greater depth and I hope to do this next week as I will be having a midweek bimble in the Peak District.
So there you go. Camera bought, autumn is here, a day planned in the week……..what could possibly go wrong…..?
So get on a hill, snap away and share the joy. No excuses with that camera now;)
thanks Martin…… 🙂
Actually was out in the Peak District today (Tues) and took a few pictures but the weather was overcast and rather dull so I wasnt hopeful of getting anything dazzling in terms of quality. I am hoping to get out on Wednesday in the Peaks again and maybe the weather will be a bit kinder. Tuesday was Mam Tor to Hollins Cross to Win Hill
Wednesday maybe a longer bimble over the ridgeline across the Edale valley
We shall see……..
A great place to visit is the Peaks. I love it. Be there again soon. Looking forward to the results of that trip with the new camera. I do wonder if a DSLR is overkill?
