This is something I picked up last year and I have used it quite extensively since. Its produced by a little known American company based in Texas called Luxurylite . I have bought a few other things from them and will probably get around to reviewing them at some point. As with most cottage industry manufacturers I found the proprieter to be very knowledgeable, helpful and full of enthusiasm.
The pillow itself is based upon an inflatable plastic inner which is inserted in a nylon cover with a small layer of foam sandwiched between.

Luxury Lite pillow
The pillow weighs around 85g and compresses down to a small package when deflated, around the same size as the Ajungilak pillow . The Ajungilak pillow is around 145g by comparison and I also have one of these, which I will review sometime. The Luxury Lite pillow uses a straw (yes a straw!) to inflate the plastic bag inner and you can adjust the amount of air you put in it to suit quite easily. Once inflated the pillow itself is very robust and I have never had any issues with deflation and the website claims that you can actually stand on the pillow without it popping or losing air.

In the field I have found this pillow to be very comfy when on first inspection you might not think it would be. The inner foam layer isnt very thick but its just enough to soften the feeling of the inflatable plastic bag inner and also adds a layer of insulation.

pillow section
Ok, its not the cheapest pillow option out there costing around £28 inc P+P from the US but I have been using it almost non stop for the past 2 years so I have had my money’s worth.
Pro’s:
Very very light
robust
comfy
reasonable insulation
packs small
Con’s:
relatively expensive
maybe not to everyone’s taste ??
It looks like a nice pillow, though pricey as you mentioned. But then again, can you put a price on a good nights sleep? I’m looking for a pillow, so your two reviews certainly were useful – Thank you!
Thank you Hendrik. I do like this pillow although it is a bit of a luxury. However, as you say, anything that aids a good night’s sleep is invaluable.
The pillow from backpackinglight is pretty good, although you do have to resort to stuffing a fleece into it to erm make it into a pillow!
I have also done this on occasions. Its always going to be a bit of a compromise using this versus a proper pillow. Its still my favourite option currently and the other thing I do sometimes is wrap the fleece top around the pillow not in it
