Pictures from a Black Mountains wildcamp weekend

An idea planted by Robin over on blogpackinglight has led me to delving into trips past and posting a few random pictures. The pictures below come from an Outdoors Magic inspired meet in the Black Mountains back in June 2008. We had wall-to-wall sunshine the whole weekend and the company was great too. We met up on the Friday at Llanthony Priory for a quick teatime bimble, an evening camp and a pie and a pint in the Priory Inn. Saturday involved a walk along Hatteral Ridge in glorious sunshine up to Hay Bluff, across Gospel Pass and up to Lord Hereford’s Knob (Twmpa). A short walk from there led us to an astoundingly lovely wildcamping spot which treated us to a wonderful sunset. Sunday morning saw us bathed in sun again as we wound our way down the opposite flanking ridge of the Vale of Ewyas and back on down to Llanthony Priory. A wonderful weekend and I can still feel the warmth of the sun on my face and remember the great wildcamp spot. Ok, so this has now turned into a mini-trip report but what the heck and hope you enjoy the photos…….

What a cracking spot to wild camp, noticed that there is one unsociable camper in the group!

It is quite simply a wonderful place to visit and I never tire of it….
