Just a quick post to say back safe and sound from a 4 day jaunt around Pumlumon and Nant-y-Moch Reservoir in Mid Wales. All I can say is the weather was stupendous and the area itself quiet, rugged and superb! Absolutely knackered from running around after kids, playing in mountain streams, hill time, cooking for the masses and sharing a bunk room with gratuitous snorers! I’ll do a better write up soon when I am up to it!
.
One of the best trips for a long, long time and its an area I will be trying to get back to very soon
.
Look forward to the trip report.
Mark
thanks Mark,
for once, all the photos will be blue skies and dazzling sunshine!
😀
Sounds great! Looking forward to the trip report.
I’ll try my best. It may be a long one….. 🙂
sounds great…on the shortlist for a couple of weeks, hurry up with that report ;p
I will do Dave, honest! Cant recommend it enough. True we had the weather, but it has a great wilderness feel to the whole area
Well done Brewer – It is an exquisitely beautiful and empty area.
Sadly 64 huge new generators are about to be plonked on the slopes of Pumlumon and surrounding wilds added to the 290 already ‘operational’ within a 30 km radius and this is just the beginning.
I fear we will have to kiss goodbye to that feeling of wildness and move to Argentina in the future.
Fred,
it will be sad indeed if the windfarm comes to pass in this particular area. I cannot stress how remote and lovely this area felt to me. Very special area indeed
