September Update….

A month….whoosh! September here and nearly gone. Walking opportunities quite limited due to work pressures and family commitments. A few local walks done but no mountains this month, or camping…..

Actually I tell a lie. I did go camping 4 weeks ago for a whole weekend. The only trouble was that it was with 4 kids (2 my own and 2 “borrowed”) and on a commercial site. Having said that we were based in Exmoor and so did manage a few woddland and river walks. I also shamelessly managed to read unmolested for half the weekend whilst the kids were playing in the park 🙂

Havent been to Exmoor for a couple of years now but the area is superb for rolling hillsides and unspoilt scenery in the main. A trip to Exford and Dulverton provided a welcome interlude for me and the kids and an opportunity to buy ice cream 😀

The next trip might be a while as the workload winds up a notch again in the next couple of months. Maybe a bothy trip or a bivvy night is in order in October. Some bits of kit (mostly 2nd hand) to try out so quite keen to fit this in somewhere! A lack of funds has also presented itself recently due to the car developing suspension issues so am brassed out again!

Wake me up, when September ends……

Drop me a line if you are heading out for a bivvy in the Brecons October onwards. I could do with a break from the PC myself sometime …

      Will do Bob! 🙂

I was looking for a minimalistic bivvy before the really shocking weather comes in. A Black Mountain escarpment (North or East) looking favourable to me at the moment which would probably suit you geographically I guess as well

You’re almost there! One more day!
