Not very often are you able to say that November is both warm AND dry. Normally its November, wet and windy! I know we are only 2/3 of the way through the month but so far the average temperature here in South Wales is trending 5 degrees above normal which is staggering. Add to that the lack of rain and we have some good walking weather, including the odd inversion early in the morning.
Today I was out and about with the kids and I clocked the temperature on the car readout of 17degrees C. Not bad at all and the lack of wind meant it felt almost like a spring day rather than a very late autumn one! Apparently its all to do with a predominantly Southerly wind coming up from the mediterranean, the jet stream being further south than normal and for me in South Wales the effect of the Gulf stream lapping around our costal strip. Also a thing called the foehn effect is coming into play which all adds up to stable mild weather conditions. Its not set to last but whilst its here, may as well make the most of it.
