Middle Ninfa camping trip – a quick update

Just back from the long weekend camping trip at Middle Ninfa with a gaggle of kids. Boy am I tired……

Still, a quick update is in order. The site is fabulous, its rustic and charming and basic so if you are a glamper, you might be disappointed 🙂 For me it was perfect combining a wilder feel to the (family) camping experience with a few facilities and gorgeous views. The kids were happy playing in leafy glades, climbing trees, riding on rope swings and patting the horses. There were acres of woodlands to walk through and the truly unique bit about the site was that the camping spots are spread out and remote from each other.

The spot we had was overlooking the main site and house. It had the best rope swing and a lovely elevation. The climb to it was a bit arrrgh, but there you go. Best of all was the ability to have a proper campfire with great views towards Skirrid Fawr. I did this 2 nights running and it was 2 of the best camping evenings I have had in a long while. Anyway, will do a better review when I have the inclination but suffice it to say the trip was great and the campsite fabulous.

Cant wait to go again…

no worries Paul. Its great for campfires. Each camping “spot” has its own stone fire pit, some with tree trunk seats, some with stone seats. I’ll post some more pictures when I do the full report. The wood that the owner sells is great for campfires and it burns well with a good flame.

  2. Sounds like a great place. Bet you were ready for a good rest when you got back!
