Drip-drip-drop, little April showers….

It has been wet. In fact its been orrible. Went out today for a walk in the Carmarthen Fan and gave up after 2 hours. Getting alternately battered by 60mph winds and drenched by horizontal rain from all directions wasnt fun. Sometimes walking in the rain is elemental and raw (fun) but not today… I did manage to have a peek at the bunkhouse my party are going to on Friday. Very nice and if it does bucket it down at least we have a bit of luxury from which to stare out at the rain 🙂

It was so wet today that on the way home, inside of the car got like a Turkish steam bath. I had to pull over, dry my glasses and wipe all the windows down 🙂 It was a bit like the “Titanic” moment but alas without Kate Winslet 😦

The other thing about this time of the year and the weather is that its my birthday tomorrow and I always get one of two types. Its either absolutely gorgeous or its peeing it down. I phoned up Coral but they werent taking anymore bets and the price of submarines on ebay just went up 100-fold…

dive, dive, dive!

I liked your optimism – it has been pouring down all day in the west near Carmarthen. We’re off for a break in Pembrokeshire tomorrow, wellies by the door.

    Penblwydd hapus for Monday.

  2. Terrible rain for 3 weeks now. I was looking at the drought ravaged landscape and thought this must be the only drought where our field at home is under 8 inches of water 🙂 Happy Birthday for tomorrow. My Birthday is in February and for years at school I used to get the bumps in the snow. It always seemed to snow on my birthday.

Unfortunately I cannot boast with my Welsh knowledge (although I could make an intelligent guess of your conversation with Bob!) but I can always wish you “Hyvää syntymäpäivää!” (I believe you understand that even if you didn’t know any Finnish 😉 ).

(And believe me or not, but I’ve taken an elementary course in Welsh years ago… Unfortunaly most – if not all – of my skills have vanished somewhere, maybe I should take a fresh start with it!)

      thanks Maria!

Yes, some expressions and words are relatively easy to decipher. Always been fascinated by languages even if not terribly good at them per se.

      How is “Hyvaa” pronounced phonetically?

Congratulations for tomorrow on reaching your centenary. Hope the Queen remembers to send a telegram 🙂

Or even happy birthday today 🙂
