Bunkhouse trip approaching…please alight here for snow!

First trip of the year sees the dads, lads and daughters posse heading out to the North West Brecon Beacons for a bunkhouse spectacular. The bunkhouse is near Llandovery and looks just the ticket. 14 of us will head on up there on Friday and spend the weekend yomping around the local hills and hopefully bomb up Fan Brycheiniog too. The only downside is that it could be a tad difficult getting there as heavy snow is forecast for the Friday! Still, the roads up there are all major A roads until the last mile so I am hoping it will be fine. The addition of the snow element means the kids are already hyper in anticipation!

Trip report will follow

wowzers, that sounds amazing!! Looking forward to the snow/trip report already ^_^ 15cm expected in North Wales tomorrow. We’ll see……..

  2. On the same note, me and 5 friends just went out to a cabin in the woods in Quebec, Canada. The location was in the Laurentian mountains, North of Montreal. We had to walk 4 hours in the forest with snow shoes to get to the cabin. We had to carry all our food and water for the whole week end, so we brought some dehydrated foods to help with the weight. It snowed all week end, amounting to more than 3 feet of snowfall in 3 days! It was a blast, we went snowshoeing and cross country skiing, and saw many birds and even a moose. Great times!
